Jun. 28th, 2005 12:13 pmThank you for your comments to my last post. An interesting variety of responses! There's no 'we' in 'women', that's a hard lesson feminists had to learn post-1970s but I stick to my guns (as it were, hah, another thing men do and women don't).
For now, though, I apologise but I've no time to reply to your replies (tog your tigs?) because I want to write my book. I must, I need, I want to write it.
So I am planning to have finished the first two chapters (Intro and chapter 1) by end September 2005. Plus the prologue. This has to be my number one top priority for the next (*calculates on fingers*) 12 weeks.
Help me with this! Don't allow me to tig and tog too much! When you see my icon pop up in your LJ, send me packing with a stern finger wag! Ask me, "And how much have you written on your book today, eh, missy?"
Um, but I can't resist some last-minute thoughts on women's communities. I've not experienced the female rock group thing that giglet describes and when I look at Glastonbury I see a million male bands and minus two female ones, I mean this is about the ratio. So these are not absolutes but I do see these as dominant tendencies. Next, I sympathise with cathexys also who experienced cattery at all-girls'-school. I went to a girls' school and it wasn't all that bad but bitchery was certainly rife. Well, that's neither here nor there but for me, this community is it, as far as all-women-bonding goes. It is just fab! And FlyLady is all women, too, no wonder I like it. I don't like men intruding on my LJ space; I never friend them now. But I've had other great all-women-thingies, namely my all-wymmyn-feminist collaborative at uni in the 1980s. I didn't see a man for about three years -- this, actually, was not so fab for someone as straight as me. LJ slash combines the perfect of both: women galore but lots of drooling over men. I love it.
But now: GOTTA GO!!!! Any post I do above ten words? BERATE ME!!!
