Speaking about loving my own fics, I suddenly remembered what I loved most about feedback. It's when readers find things in my story that I had not realised I had put in there. That is like learning something new about myself. You only get that in dialogue. In a way, my own fic will only ever stay my own fic when I read it myself (no matter how much I love it --okay, I will change over time and see different things in it but still). But when others come and look at my fic, they give it back to me in an entirely new and freshly-polished form.
