Clouds have appeared. Last night, it rained in a trickly fashion for about three minutes. This morning, the sky is festooned with hazy white things. It is a bit oppressive; there are a lot of the hazy white things, and no shadows are currently cast. The sky is heavy. The air is sultry. It is a bit cooler than yesterday.

Sweat collects on one's philtrum still, and at the roots of one's hair. Yesterday, at the hairdresser's, I had my hair washed in cool water and that was most wonderfully refreshing. They say, don't they, that if you keep head, feet and pulse points cool, the rest of your body will cool down.

Sometimes, when one walks along, one walks through coal-seam like wafts of smell: pungent rape seed and other stuff whose name I don't know. Food goes off very fast and becomes a stinky goo. I froze t'son's water bottle and by the time we got to school, it had already melted quite a bit. He says that 'a sausage of ice' forms in the middle.

To people who puzzle over my weather posts: I started these earlier in the year as a means to get myself writing, to limber up the observational muscles. Also, to provide myself with weather background for use in fic, specifically for use in HP opus. And by now it's become a sort of ritual. :-) So far, I have 37 memoried weather posts.

[livejournal.com profile] grondfic has written a tiny little sequel called Barscoop to my fic Nemesis, and it is brilliant. I can't really tell you anything about it lest I give its delicious twists away...

Soccergirlz posted some more private pics shot by some pap in a bush. I have the same rps reservations as I had about the ones where he leans against his mother's lap (oh teh cute, the MaryMamma) but I am also possessed by the devil so am linking them here. Scroll down and ignore the German, if you can't understand it, *g*.

I have to say, the holiday en famille just warms my cockles. I love it so much more than the yachting hol at St Tropez. All those cousins and nieces and aunties and who-knows-whos... I know that it's wrong to lurk in the bushes and intrude upon their privacy but I do so like that kind of Felliniesque atmosphere.

Thanks to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] rahaeli, I just finished watching No Man's Land, episode 1 of series 3 of Stargate Atlantis, the fps fandom I was involved in before I got sucked into football rps. Ah, the joys of fifth-rate mimes trying to inject passion into their televisual dia- and monologues. A long throw from the real passions that were the drama of the World Cup, where every ecstatic hug and every laugh and every wild tear and every groinstomp headbutt embrace-from-the-rear hair-ruffle step-over tap chip goalsave kiss dry-hump was unscripted and real real real.

Er. Where was I? spoilerettinos and musings on sga 3/01 -- I believe in TV fandom parlance they call this episode response, or somesuch )
And Rodney/Ronaldo? They are so doing it. Actually, so threeing it: Rodney/Ronaldo/Ronaldo. The gap-toothed one can join in.

Rodney: I'd rather be a hero than a meal, yes I would, if I could, I surely would.
Ronaldo17: What is this you are singing?
Rodney: Oh, you're too young to know it, aren't you?
Ronaldo gap-tooth: You can be my meal any day, honeybunch.
