It gets dark very early these days, shortly after 4 and by 5 it's night. Today, the sky was sharp blue and the leaves stark yellow. A lot of them were on the ground. Yesterday, it rained and that turned the foliage to a muddy mush. In the dark, it looks like dirty melted snow, and has a similar texture. Other trees are bright red. The grass is always wet these days.
