Day 10: 18,292
Mar. 23rd, 2007 05:48 pmIt's 5.30 pm of Day 10 of my personal National Novel Writing Month wot commenced on 14 March. Chris Baty of NaNoWriMo founding fame tells me in his 'Where you should be on each day of the word parade' chart that the quota for Day 10 is 16,670 words. And I'm at 18,292! I'm ahead of the game! I've typed myself into a tiny little safety margin!
For tomorrow I go to Berkhamstead to an MBA Open Day at the Ashridge Business School and who knows how much noveling I may not get done? Although I plan to scribble furious long-hand all the way there. I love working on trains. I must make sure that my next job involves some sort of train commute three times a week (not more, though). Also, all those businessy types will be fodder to my plot research.
Plus I finished marking my 30 first-year mid-semester essays! I am glutted with achievement!
I love this novel writing lark. I love it. (And Chris Baty tells me that Week 2 is a long hard slog and full of disheartening pitfalls...!)
