Things I love
Sep. 28th, 2007 08:21 pmThings I love:
• Just A Minute. Click the 'Listen again' button on the BBC Radio Four website and die laughing. The current season is finished (*sob*) but there is a new season of:
• The News Quiz! Hooray! Also 'Listen again' on Radio Four and indulge yourselves. How I love Sally Toksvig's evil infectious chuckle.
• Bullet points!
• Australia! The bush! The desert!
• Sticky date pudding!( Picture )
• Friands!( Picture )
• Bar Coluzzi in Darlinghurst( Picture )
• Writing my thriller!
• My new urban utility belt! ( Picture )
Finally, my bag problems solved! Here's the story: I carry the kitchen sink about with me. I used to wear an over-the-shoulder small handbag. This was heavy. This was bad for my back. This dangled off me and was annoying when riding a bike and doing anything else. In Australia, I wore my new digital camera attached to my belt and I started using it as a wallet, stuffing money down the side, and I loved it! Hands free! Shoulders free! Plus, so very cool and plumber-like!
So I googled and found this utility belt. I have a small bag on one hip and a bigger one on the other and I never have to worry about leaving my keys behind again.
• I wear this belt with my new Berghaus hiking boots.( Picture )
These, too, I bought for Australia, to go hiking but I love them so much I wear them everywhere, to town, to work. They supplement my new belt-bag-plumber's look. It is me!! When I finally manage to upload my pictures, I'll post a photo of me in my new tough look! With my brown leather bondage wristband. And my aboriginal dot pattern neck scarf.
• The new fashions, and I'll be buggered if I can find images of them via quickie googlie. What I love is: ballerina flats (although I don't wear them anymore; my feet slip out and they're too flimsy for My New Look but I love looking at women and young girls wearing them, they look just so scrumptious) and skinny jeans and over-the-waist navel-hiding hip-hugging tops and cute flouncy above-the-knee swirl skirts and footless tights (wot used to be called leggings in the 80s -- in fact, this is a total 80s revival look). I just love that look! Even though all I wear of it is the skinny jeans and leggings part but for me it's pure eye candy seeing the streets full of people sporting this look. I so hated the chunky shoes and the mules (*vomits*, all those ugly scabbed heels of the 90s) and the toes poking out through strappy sandals and the, *shudder*, tattoed bellies on view everywhere.
• And other things that aren't coming to mind right now.
My happy holiday belly is almost gone. All that working out! I miss it. I've been skinny for decades, and then unhappily mumsy-blobby, and I grew quite fond of my happy sticky-date-pudding Australia belly. *g*
