wedding frock

Did I tell peoplechens that I'm going to a big gay wedding on Friday and Saturday? It's very exciting. T'h is best man, and t'grooms are novelist and South Asian man so it's going to be the marriage of my two favourite pastimes: narrative and Bollywood! There's going to be Indian music and literati glitterati and t'sons are also invited and it's all very great.

Today I bought the frock!

Tomorrow I'm going to buy the hat! I can't find a photo of the hat but it looks sort of like this, except that it's all green.

Then I"m going to buy elbow-length black shiny gloves.

And then I thought I'd get myself a strappy golden sandal with heels!!

And I haven't even decided on the golden glitzy or elegantly understated clutch bag yet!!

Hm. I'm going a bit overboard here. But I'm thinking where do I get to dress up in drag if not at a gay wedding??!

Also, I'm going to have to pack lace-ups in my clutch bag because: how am I going to walk in that? Let alone dance?

Oh, and for the Friday-before-the-wedding dinner I'm going to get an orange swirly dress from Kew, except it's on sale so there's no picture available. And it's cheap, thank lordy, because after all the above extravaganzas...? That's baked beans for me for five months.

ETA: omg, and if I'm going to be wearing toe-revealing sandals, I'd better get myself a pedicure, and... and some paint-on fake tan! Egads, I didn't get this dressed up for my own wedding!
