movements in august

'tis summer holiday season in Europe. I've just come back from a weekend with t'parents in Holland, and on Friday we fly to Provence for our special Butlins-on-the-Mediterranean holiday. We are living in a 'camp', in a lodge, with all meals taken in a big cafeteria sort of place, and the sea on the doorstep, and pine trees and sun. The meals, I am confident, will all be very, very nice and not caff-style food at all. I plan just to lie about and swim and read seven novels or thereabouts. Then we visit mad friends in the Luberon. Then we fly home.

Then (!) we fly away again, to Salzburg in Austria, for one week with my sister and her children and my parents and brother and whonot, in a big chalet they're renting. We will zoom from the Mediterranean to the Alps! One week it's bathing togs and olive oil, the next it's wellies and Torte!

I love Europe.
