Oct. 30th, 2009 07:06 amI'ts 7:07 on Friday morning. I've not had coffee. The garden has autumn colours. I'm wrestling with the writing life (or non-life), that's why I haven't posted much. I have an Arvon-debriefing post scribbled in my notebook! So it will be posted soon. Today I'm giving a public lecture at the Fitzwilliam Museum. Last week I visited Wolverhampton Art Gallery to research a catalogue essay for them. And in January I'm giving a paper at a conference in Manchester. So I'm writing and publishing again! Also, t'sons were both gone for the first part of half-term and I did not like it. Not one bit. It was like a portend of the future when they'll both be gone to uni and it'll just be t'h and me tumbling pointlessly around the house. One regret I have is not having a third child, living under the illusion that I needed to work. What now do I care for my bloody work? Anyway, plenty of time to 'work' once they've all left home.
