news from the profession
Dec. 14th, 2009 11:52 pmI've just found out that my fantastic new line manager (head of department) is leaving to take up another post in Lincoln. My ear has started to hurt. I hope my old redundancy anxiety and job stress is not going to return. This woman has been such a bulwark! She has made all the difference in my new life in my new department; I've really been able to come up for air. I've started to publish and give papers again and it's ultimately all due to her. How is it that so many people are such shits and rubbish middle managers, and some are so brilliant at it?
