otp love dom orlando

I have to thank my lovely help_haiti bidders, zarah5 and particularly the winner msilverstar who egged me on to do Dom/Orli. My heart did sink when that option won rather than the Rodney/John I had been writing in my head. I had no idea what to write! I hadn't written that pairing in eight years! I don't know anything about these people now -- last time I looked they were 23 and young! By now, they've probably both got beer bellies and mortgages!

So I thought and thought and wrecked and racked my brain. Had a bunny, wrote 500 words, was so bored that my head nearly collapsed on the keyboard.

So I thought and thought some more, and listened to some Bollywood music, and watched some Shahrukh Khan films and interviews, and bing.

Bunny.

And now I'm in love. I'm in love with my own fic and my own original (yes! my very first evah in fandom!) OTP and my world and my writing. How amazing!! This is the most fun I've had in writing anything in years! And so much more fun than any of the nanowrimo orig or Creative Writing workshop in Arvon orig or, um, almost any orig I've written...

What does this betoken?

Anyway, I'm all warm and fuzzy and also feeling hot as hell with these boys (men! they are men! *reminds oneself of their ages and, alas, of own advancing years*) and grateful for charity projects which make me feel humbled and bidders who commission me and kick my butt. I've also never been paid for a fic, so omg, I need to get my act together for charity, and I have!
