Dear yuletide writer and note to all
Oct. 20th, 2023 09:15 pmFirst of all, my note to all: I am very happy to receive extra treat gifts.
And now, most importantly:
Dear yuletide writer
I am so happy that you will write something for me.
I have some hard Do-Not-Wants and they are: torture; blood play; anything to do with faeces or urine.
I'm not overly fond of omegaverse but will keep an open mind. Mpreg, too, and kid fic (characters as parents) doesn't excite me terribly but it's not a hard DNW.
I love: pining; unresolved sexual tension (but in the end, it gets resolved); slow burn; enemies to lovers; you-get-on-my-nerves to i-love-everything-about-you; there's only one bed; Canadian shack; aliens made them do it; moral choice; uncut genitals. None of this needs to be included, though: write like the wind, write freely! :) I'm totally happy with crack and with AUs :) Likewise melodrama but also serious politics. I like cross-overs although if I'm completely unfamiliar with the crossed fandom, I may need extra explanation and backstory.
Fandom: Byzantine empresses. I confess I am no expert in the history of Byzantine empresses but I would love to read about them and their world. I studied Christian Archaeology for a while at uni and loved learning about Theophanu, also love Ravenna and Byzantine mosaics and Byzantine court life and icons.
Fandom: John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, 2023 special, section: Milan. I adore John Finnemore. I'm happy to read a fic in the style of a radio play, for example. I love the bassoonist and his husband for their sweetness, their forgiving nature, their cheekiness and their voices.
Fandom: Geschichten vom kleinen Tiger und vom kleinen Bär. Gen only, here, please. DNW explicit sex. Und eine deutsche Geschichte fände ich wundernett! I have fondness for these innocent friends and the way they are drawn by Janosch and wander through the world but find contentment in their home. As I used to read these to my children, I would be squicked by any sexual shenanigans. Although if you age them up, I wouldn't mind a romantic relationship but kept gen.
Fandom: Filibus (1915) I would be delighted to read an adventure romp. I teach film history and am excited by early cinema, the steampunk special effects and the genderbending before the concept existed.
