unerring sense of the rare
Apr. 19th, 2006 05:15 pmI have done it again. I do this in every fandom I stumble into. I seem to hit, with an unerring sense, upon the rare and the weird. Because I am reliably informed that in SGA Eldon/Rodney is, apparently, rare!
A quick search through LJ interests just confirmed this. There are only four other people besides me (I've just updated my interests -- yes! I am absurd!) who list 'Eldon' and one of these is 'Eldon, Missouri' (not Eldon c/o Pegasus Galaxy) and another one is definitely not SGA and a third one hasn't updated for 38 weeks. Googling Rodney/Eldon got no fanfic! Where is the good stuff hidden? Is there not even a community? There is a community for Lorne/Parrish and they appear on screen for all of three nanoseconds while Rodney and Eldon clearly have chemistry!
Heh, because despite my supposed and professed disdain for canon, my rare pairings are always wildly canonical.

sophrosyne1972 who predicted it all. The iconicity, that is, not the rareness.)

Yay, Eldon! :)

Date: 2006-04-19 06:21 pm (UTC)I can't manage to keep tabs open. I keep hitting propeller-W by mistake and closing them. How do these tabs all fit onto your toolbar? And WHY?

Date: 2006-04-19 06:33 pm (UTC)As for why -- I've got into the habit of using tabs instead of bookmarks. I'm constantly opening things in new tabs 'to read later' and then leaving them there. And because I have the Firefox extension called Session Saver, every time I open Firefox, it's exactly the way I left it, tabs and all. The vast majority of these tabs are probably fics. I go through recs pages and just open up a bunch of likely looking candidates in new tabs, 'to read later'. Some are fics I've read awaiting feedbacking or adding to del.icio.us. There also appears to be some stuff about Latvia, for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, and some info on Czech universities (you might be able to guess what that's about) and some screencap pages, and some stuff about the twelve apostles (I was going to write Easter fic for a while there).
This clutter of tabs is basically an extension of my bedroom, which is an extension of my mind. Insane.

And apostles!
