Hm, I just looked up 'blowzy' in my Concise and it means 'red-faced, coarse-looking, slatternly'. Not quite what I meant.
The air is not silent but rushing with leaves being blown. One's hair gets blown about as does one's silk neck scarf, in long streamers behind one on the bicycle. The sun makes sharp shadows. Nice day, really.
