I have just finished and sent off a 4,000 word chapter to be contributed to a scholarly publication! *falls over*
I haven't managed to finish and contribute essays/articles/books-to-be-published since about 2003. Hm, since about the time I joined fandom, come to think of it... I have laboured under writer's block, academic angst, general universal dread and procrastination plague.
So this is a Major Achievement for Me!
It's really good, too! (I did publish two crappy things wot I'm not counting.)
Coming up next!
1) In 9 days: Arvon creative writing workshop, for one week, in Hebden Bridge!!! I am bursting with excitement.
2) End of October: Public talk at our local museum.
3) January: Paper at conference on narrative in 19th-C. France in Manchester.
4) May: Essay for exhibition catalogue on an artists' colony.
The essay I just wrote is on this painting.
