May. 26th, 2002 09:33 pmFinally saw Attack of the Clones today.
My verdict:
Crap.
Nowhere near as entertaining as Phantom Menace. Plot all over the place, lots of longueurs; even my 8-year old son whispered , "They've copied this bit from Gladiator". The only person who loved it to bits was the 4-year old: that's the level of the film, I'm afraid.
Even the lines weren't as cheesily delightful as we've come to expect. Only line that made my cheesometer:
Life is a lot simpler when you're fixing things.
On the upside: some good battle scenes; Yoda was fun; Jay looked good (can't wait to see him as Ugluk); Hayden whatsisname does do some quite good evil-eye stuff (but reminds me too much of my kid brother to make it to my Pretty-Boy file) .
Best of all: for the first time in my life I was actually cuddled by a Christopher-Lee plot bunny!!! So I guess that alone was worth the price of the ticket, *g*.
