life update

copperbadge posted a post on the journal aspect of LiveJournal and DW and it occurred to me that I might like to update.

Things wot I haz done of recent:


- got commissioned (sort of) to write a historical novel (!!) \o/

- did a glove puppet presentation on barista AUs at Nine Worlds geekfest convention at Heathrow

- lay awake more hours than I care to count and ate nothing but fruit for a month over unbelievably painful marriage break-up / divorce / whatever the fuck this is situation

- finished an article and an academic book chapter (one of them on women sculptors and naked men, hah)

- swam in the sea at Brighton, played mini golf, went on a ghost train at Brighton Pier (super fun holiday with t'sons)

- had my tarot read by a dear friend in Heidelberg

- four times, visited my sister who has breast cancer (and am there right now)

- raised £1,056.00 for cancer research doing the Race for Life event (thank you, all generous sponsors!)

- yelled and wept at my mother over the phone for the first time in my entire life

- found out who are real friends in a profound if often painful but incredibly touching process

- flirted wit a man for about 3 minutes while not even tipsy (!! haven't done this in... don't even know how many decades: ever? did I ever even bother?) But it was kind of good to discover I could if I wanted to.

Yes, copperbadge, we can archive on LJ / DW and document shit for ourselves in a way that is impossible on tumblr or twitter! Thank you for reminding me of this!
