Greetings from Munich
Feb. 5th, 2003 08:52 pmI never found an internet bar in Milan but I found something better instead: I met real-life
cinzia!! And it was just wonderful! We met at 5 pm; we talked for what seemed like half an hour, but when I looked at my watch it was past 9!
She gave me some chocolates and an Italian LotR book which was so kind and generous. Being able to look at all my lovelies at will on my peregrinations is a great boon -- it's even got Jed and Steve (in their masks but still).
And her English, despite what she might tell you, is *excellent*.
I missed Italy when I left Milan but Munich has turned out to be very nice in its own right. From my rl research point of view, it is sheer heaven. When I entered the specialist reference library I had come to use, I practically had an orgasm then and there -- this was simply on viewing the card catalogue, I hadn't even set foot in the open-access stacks yet. And once I did -- well, the extent of my overwhelmedness can be gauged by the astounding circumstance that I actually forgot about Karl/Dom for around 4 hours straight. That is the first time that has happened to me since July 2001. *ridiculous grin*
The hubster has today actually discovered the art of txting. I don't think he had located the right buttons for it before on his phone. He has been sending me a barrage of porn txts -- heh, I think he's finally cottoned onto what the online life is all about. (And yes, I count the mobile in: it is but an extension of t'internet -- not when you use it for bizarre things such as *talking into it*, of course).
Anyway, t'web costs more in Germany than it does in Italy so I will devote the remainder of my time to email checking and perhaps a bit of LJ surfing.
Or maybe I'll just check in to the Bagend Inn for some drooling. I need that daily pic fix. ;-)
Take care, all of you. (I'd insert a snazzy link to my Friends here but can't be bothered finding out the url.)
Tschuess, alle miteinander, or as they say down south here, gruess Gott.
