It turns out that the man who sent me such kind feedback (see previous post) thought I was a man, too! Being struck by my tender insights, he took me for "a gentle queen"!

I don't know whether to be flattered, worried or confused!

Ah, the trials and traps of the internet.

P.S. Yes, I confess: I actually look like my icons.

P.P.S. This reminds me of a few months ago when a clueless teenie-slasher thought I was John Noble! Because I have his pic up on my website and he used to be one of my icons.

P.P.P.S. Come to think of it, I was sometimes addressed as "young man" by Berlin cloakroom attendants, back in the 80s when I had very short hair. And one squash centre attendant gave me a key to the men's locker room and was surprised when I came back to tell him it didn't fit the lock. He took me along down the corridor towards the door marked "M" whereupon I burst out with, "Oh no! I'm a woman!" (Or something to that effect.)

*checks private parts: no, nothing has grown overnight*

I can live perfectly well without that extra chromosome. Give me a double XX any day.

Oh gads, I've been found out!

Still, wouldn't a "gentle queen" own pink make-up???

I'd be flattered, if I were you. It's all about reality effect, not reality, baby! And he bought your reality effect, so he constructed a persona for you that explained your insightfulness into the ways of m/m love!

I am very excited to hear the news that you affect a pipe and turquoise boiler hat. How terribly... er, something intriguing, yes. :P

*veils self in mystery*

Well, not a physical veil, of course, although perhaps that could also be an option for the "gentle queen" persona...

Ah, my days of being mistaken for a man are sadly over. And I say "sadly" because I'm at that time where I desperately want to BE a man. If only for a day.

But that random thought shared, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] eyebrowofdoom. In this particular case, I think it's quite a compliment. *grins* nothing wrong with being mistaken for a "gentle queen". ;-)

that time where I desperately want to BE a man.

Interesting. I didn't know that there was a time to be "at" for such urgings.... *g*

Why do you want to be a man, if even for one day??

lol, ooops, forgot to finish that sentence, silly me. I meant to type "I'm at that time of the month where I desperately want to be a man". It's been a recurring complaint of mine ever since I turned old enough to know about cramps, and other fun period type things. Sorry to be crude, lol. So yes, once a month, every month, I curse and whine and just have to ask: who oh why wasn't I born a man?

Heh, you should, on the contrary be *thankful* that you're not a man. Because you feel like shit once a month but if you were a man, it would more or less be constant.

Am convinced of genetic superiority of the XX. *ggg*

*grins* Oh, definitely, I am convinced of the XX superiority, too. But with superiority, I'm afraid comes the hassle. I've always wanted to be a man. Not to mention that whole fascination with the penis. The male organ fascinates me. I so badly want to know what it's like to pee standing without spraying one's feet, or what it's like to have a male orgasm.... Well, you know, there's a reason I'm into slash, lol.

Hehe. I tend to think the male anatomy is rather simple-minded, all surface, all dangly bits, *gg*.

And a tip for cramps: Coca Cola helps. A friend told me this and I thought she was mad but it works.

Ah, but see, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I want to experience that simple-mindedness first hand, and not be on the receiving end of it, for once, lol.

And really? Coca-Cola? Never thought about that. Will have to try it, then. Because ouch-motherfucking-ouch. And even though my strawberry cheesecake ice cream is GOOD, it's not helping. But it's good. Mmmmmm....
