People appear to be writing down their post-cinematic musings about Matrix Reloaded so, as I saw it last night, here are mine:

Saw it with the hubster which was really nice. Sat in the first row which was also really nice (am one of perverse first-row lovers). Did not have Katjes Lakritzkaetzchen with me and craved them the entire time. Laughed out loud several times! And that's got to be good.

So, verdict all in all: a fantastic piece of trite rubbish but fabulous fun. Plays around in quite a clever way with generic B-movie tropes. Throws money at you - and that's always appreciated. Script, i.e. dialogue, refreshingly idiotic ("vampires, ghosts, hobbitses and greebly-grooblies, they are all excrements and renegades" - I screeched! Note to those who have not seen the film: this is my own somewhat loose rendition of The Oracle's speech).

Aimed at.. whom? Obviously the pre-sold Matrix die-hards (was amused by blithe lack of explanation and assumption that all have seen the First Movie). At teens who go to techno raves? At those who've read William Gibson and imbibed 'Space Odyssee 2001' and 'Aliens'? The Martial Arts brigade?

Who knows. Who cares. Expect trash and thou wilt not be disappointed. T'hubster griped on about contradictions and holes in the plot but, hey, that is *part* of a B-movie: plot holes, cheesy lines, corny love-conquers-all scenarios and OTT sfx.

I liked it better than Matrix 1. It was big and loud.

Pity I can't take the kids. They'll have to wait for the DVD. *grumbles at ratings*

*bitter* I always held the German Mail in high regard, but how can an AIRMAILED package to the UK (not to Timbuktu, or Kuala Lumpur) take a week? Next time I'm going to UPS.

Sorry for making you go through the trauma of a movie visit without appropriate snackage. :-(

Don't worry, I'm sure it'll turn up eventually (hopefully before the Katjes start to decompose). It just annoys me to no end that it hasn't arrived yet! *kicks Deutsche Post*

Heh, I'm not sure Katjes *can* decompose. Is there even any organic matter in them?

hm, now that you mention it... I think there are still a couple of Katjes gathering dust under my bed, from when I had a craving for them back in the 80's. I guess they fade away even slower than nuclear radiation.

But the marzipan tastes better fresh! *hits Deutsche Post deftly*
