I have become demented with Orli-lust because just now I joined an Orli-pic-posting community. I can't even remember its name in order to put a pretty icon link here; I saw some pics of a tanned pirate and clicked 'join here' buttons in a blind haze.
Oh,
thejennabides and
lazulus, what have you done to me!!?
Am off on my overnight jaunt to Amsterdam tomorrow evening and am in a bit of a state, although am also trying to follow kind advice of various people which is not to get into a state. Result of this: pushme-pullyou inbetween-state-lines condition of weirdness.
Last night I thought: I will never write again. (I have thought this about twelve times over the past 15 months, I have to add.)
This morning I thought: I will never write Karl/Dom again.
This afternoon I thought: I will never write slash again.
This evening I thought: well, I'll write some slash when the mood takes me, and I want to put the fun back into my fic (I used to write *humour*, goddamnit - what the fuck happened to that?), and I have a great lust to write origfic. But I will *not* write it as a big angsty never-posted taking-months-to-write thing. I'll just do it as a frivolous WIP LJ activity. That may keep me sane.
May.
Because cut out to be a novelist I am not.
Although I have hopes for
badgermonkey, *winks*

ukcalico! The hubster bumped into her today in Cafe Nero! He rang to tell me this. She texted me to tell me this. Cambridge is a *hub*!! I can't believe it! T'reference library and Cal in t'same municipality!

Good luck in Amsterdam. I am with Demelza and T'Hubster, write down prompts to remind you of things you know you want to say and remember to breathe. This last thing is very important. Breathing is good.

Sounds like a plan. But remember that you can reserve the right to change your mind about anything that you say about your writing. Be it thinking that you will never write again, or that you will never write another novel length story. It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind. ;)

Hell, yeah!

Date: 2003-06-04 05:27 pm (UTC)Thank you.
But alas, the past is the past. And the pressure to live up to one's past standards mounts.
And we'll see what I have to say about this in a few days' time... *g*

Date: 2003-06-05 01:10 am (UTC)And the Dutch have a whole other Lakritz culture! They have Lakritz coming out of their ears! Every sort! Salty, sweet, soft, hard! Still. Nothing tastes like the good old Kaetzchen.
I gave my children and hubster some of the Marzipan but nobody is allowed a Kaetzchen.

Is there any place in the world worth mentioning in which you haven't lived? :-D I'm a pedigree Hamburgian, though my mom has retreated with us to the suburbs near Harburg a while ago. But my father still lives in St. Pauli, at the Fischmarkt.

When I'm back from the Dam! I'll post what there is, and then it can be a collaborative WIP so feel free to join in any sequel making.

Date: 2003-06-05 03:43 am (UTC)Yeah, say things like that, and then expect me to NOT drag my friend in Cafe Nero, in hopes to catch sight of pretty girls. (and I'm in my ovulation days, damnit!)
(the train station guy told me that the 'Grove Green' on my ticket is apparently a mistake from their part - huh? Good. Hopefully.)
