After having discovered that "Gimme Danger" (favourite scene in Velvet Goldmine) is not on the VG-soundtrack-CD (*hysterical sobs*) and having been so desperate as to turn the DVD-player to full volume at the requisite chapter in order to hear it throughout the house --- I found the original song on an Iggy Pop-CD I've had for years!

Hah!

So, earphones clamped to head and programme turned to "repeat one thousand times", I sat at my computer and typed up 733 words of my new book.

A friend whom I sometimes meet in t'reference library's tearoom said that he was writing 500 words per day for his new book so I thought, hm, 500, that's not too daunting. So I started tonight. And hah, I've already outrun him!

They're 733 words of crap, 'tis true, but they *are* 733 words! *stares at word count menu in glee*

In other news, it's been a dumb day, full of cold rain and low air pressure.

Hmm, competitive word-counting...you know, that could work, because I just read that and thought "Aha! Well, maybe *I* should write 734 words then!"

Although, having said that, I have always been deathly jealous of people who claim to have written their novels in two weeks, and as yet, have not managed 80,000 words in 13 days, so it probably wouldn't happen.

I then calculated that if I kept up the 500 words thing until January, my book would be finished. (Unless I can't do maths which is highly likely.)

Then I can spend the next year deleting the whole crap and writing the real book.

I like it.

Writing crap helps me. But only in non-fiction. Writing crappy fic just glooms me out. Writing crappy non-fic makes me think.

Thus endeth the philosophy lesson on crap.

I have just rapidly and unaccountably fallen in deep love with you.

*slides off chair and dies in a quiet essplosion under the table*

Man, that Ewan's voice is one hot thing.

Now how do I get this onto a tape to play in the car? (Are you allowed to drive while actually in the process of having an orgasm?)

How do I download this?

How do I tape it?

How do I attach it to my bloodstream intravenously?
