Which is sad, because although he has a good voice I think that scene is the only un-necessary bit in the entire film.

I have been thinking about this scene! Because yes, it is a bit fast-forwardy. But: when I saw the film for the first time, I was in such a state of hyperventilation after the Gimme Danger lead-up and the rooftop climax, that I could see the point of having a sort of come-down period where you just lie there, breath- and speechless, and wait for your plot-following-ability to return.
