(perhaps not strangely -- I do tend to run from cameras.)
but! picture a 1960's bob with the ends curled out, and add a Veronica-Lake style flop that keeps falling in my eyes, and you have today's offering to the blowdry gods.
I actually had to haul out the really big round brush, too -- that's it, getting it cut this weekend.
See, that's not just a flop, though, that's a long-at-the-back mullet type affair as well. And that's not good, really. The flop is at the front only.
Someone else mentioned their BF had a floppy fringe - well, I feel I am honour bound to disclose that t'BF has a short back and sides. Yes, he is the anti-flop. Also the anti-fop.
Okay, so which type of flop do you prefer? What, in fact, constitutes a 'flop at the back'? I thought flops could only flop across a forehead. Surely anything flopping around the nape area can never aspire to the designation 'flop' proper.
But Jack Davenport's flop pleases??
I disagree that Karl is here sporting a 'mullet'. O nonono. It is simply a sort of hippy 70s-flashback affair - somewhat daggy (hence my choice of Karl as master of geek) but not a mullet which is crass, vulgar and epsilon minus.

Well, my haircut when I actually get it cut, rather than letting it go for, um, three months! (eep!)
And unlike Karl I blowdry it so it does that trendy sort of flippy-outty thing at the ends all around.
But still.

Date: 2003-08-01 10:49 am (UTC)I, too, succumb to teh almighty flop. I even ask my boyfriend to keep his hair a little long, just so that it has juuust the right amount of floppage.

I have spoken.
