Eeek!

After having griped on about these awards, their insiderishness and cliquishness and the non-transparent nature of the adjudication process -- I now find that I have been nominated!

My stories Up Shit Creek, The Other Trailer, At About Six O'Clock and the whole of the < Dom/Billy/Orli saga have been nominated.

I feel absurdly grateful to the generous and kindly soul who nominated me. And now I also feel obliged to go and nominate stories myself.

But I tell myself (following [livejournal.com profile] cupiscent's line on this) that it is important to subvert the cliquishness of these awards, no matter how dubious one finds them. So I will re-instate their logo on my user info page and I will go and dig out my favourites folder and I will spend those dratted minutes (hours?) trying to find my way through their complicated nominating system and I will go forth and nominate.

Whoever nominated me there:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
*smooches umpteen times*

congratulations!

If I can figure out how, I'll vote for you. IMO, this particular awards was set up with way too many hoops to jump through & they made it too difficult for people to participate.

Yes. It took me about an hour to figure out their categories and match my favourite fics against their categories. It involved quite a bit of tweaking because they are not the categories most people tend to use when defining fics. Also, *way* too many categories. And oodles of pairings with Billy, Dom, Orli, Lij in them but then two rubrics only for the enormous (but apparently, in their eyes, sub-standard or weird) amount of "other pairings". Anyway, what with all the bother, I came too late and the window told me "nominations closed".

Pooh.

So I'll just nominate them all on my LJ.

Voting has not started yet and is, at any rate, only valid for the Readers' awards. The rest is by jury.

Well, I meant to nominate you*, but then I found out that nominations closed on Monday (damn! I thought it was the end of the month!) I'm glad someone was a bit more organised than me!

And congratulations!

*A Perfect Day, of course.

and thanks for thinking-of-nominating Midsummer: Grass! *bask in glow of nearly-nominee-ness* It's the thought that counts ...

Dahlink, it's important to subvert everything. *wicked grin*

But you totally deserved to me nominated. I wanted to nominate your "Boyfriends" for best D'Orli, but their nomination system defeated me. Plus, none of my other nominations seem to have come up, so obviously they've ignored me. (I nominated, or tried to, Gloria's "Mosaic", and I think Zarah's "To Know". Mmph.)

Well, this is too stupid. You *tried* to nominate and failed? Your nominations haven't come up? *grits teeth at awards*

You know what is odd, though? I am wary of these awards on principle but it still gives me a ridiculous thrill to have been nominated. This must be what leftie, non-establishment actors and directors feel when they're on the Oscars lists. The vagaries of human psychology!!

And I tried to nominate only to be confronted with the words 'nominations are now closed.' Grr.
