Oct. 3rd, 2003 06:29 pmI liked the film. I like films (and novels) where characters are faced with ethical decisions. The Ewan-character is faced with a serious ethical choice. In fact, there are 3 moments in the film where he is faced with such a choice, and each time he makes the wrong choice. This is not presented in a we-have-the-right-answer way. It is simply shown, and we, as audience, must decide what's right and wrong. But it's pretty obvious.
He makes the wrong choice each time. He is a deeply flawed man, and, I think, a Very Bad Man because he knowingly allows an innocent man to die.
