I knew it! For once this quiz got it right:

I'm Legolas/Gimli!
What Non-Canon Lord of the Rings (LOTR) Pairing Are You?

brought to you by Quizilla

Well, but I only discovered my OTP after Pythoness and Cimorene's fics, not through Tolkien. While reading the books, I was Sam/Frodo all the way.

Ok, now there's one thing I'd really like to know:
Who got Rosie/Sauron as test-result?

(And who would manage to write such a pairing and make it believable? *boggles*)
I know if I search for that on the web I'll be deeply disturbed. ... *searches*

Did you find Rosie/Sauron? Sounds completely mad.

Did you find Rosie/Sauron?

Ahhh...
No.
I consider myself lucky (now).

Ah, they are my OTP as well! Both while reading the books and after.

though the teenie in me wanted to see King Aragorn and Princess Legolas get it on.

I was never an Aragorngal but there are a lot out there. Ach, and for a black-haired Legolas...

I could put up a pretty good debate about how non-canon Legolas/Gimli is... I would call it the "HEAVILY. IMPLIED. BUT. NEVER. LABLED." pairing once you read all the appendixes... >_>;; I guess I do puff up when it's put alongside random slash pairings... heh heh heh...

Nah, it was Gimli/Galadriel all the way. Legolas was just a beard.

What's a beard? I've heard that expression but have forgotten what it means. :-)

That's a date you take to distract people from your real sweetie, or in this case to keep your real sweetie's husband from getting all pissy.

*screams at thought of Legolas being a 'beard' and Gimli hopping off into the sunset with Galadriel*

It's not that far from canon.

In The White Rider Gandalf gives him this message from Galadriel:: Lockbearer, wherever thou goest my thought goes with thee. But have a care to lay thine axe to the right tree!

Bad poetry = True Love.

Letter #154: But in this story it is supposed that there may be certain rare exceptions or accomodations... and so certain 'mortals', who have played some great part in Elvish affairs, may pass with the Elives to Elvenhome. Thus [he lists Frodo, Bilbo and Sam]; and as a unique exception Gimli the Dearf, as friend of Legolas and 'servant' of Galadriel.

What sort of servant would that be... a masseur perhaps?

::shrug:: I don't read much Tolkien slash. I'm sure it's been done.

Heh heh heh, well, you gotta look at the difference between who he thought was the most beautiful elf ever to live, and who he lived with...

I hardly think that counts. It just took 120 years or so for his Valinor visa to come through. Elvish beaurocracy is the pits.

And on the subject of canon: Whatever happened to *black-haired* Legolas?

Yeah! Whatever did happen to him? It used to be a debate what Legolas' haircolor was... and now everybody defaults to blonde... :( ::shakes fist at uncaring sky::
