There's an interview with John Rhys-Davies here .

The man is one big hunk of slashiness!

Two reasons why:
1) Everyone always goes on about the pouty one's *back injury*. Well, JRD has got a back injury, too (so there) plus scars all over his body (and he shows them to his interviewer!) plus near-death experiences, including a *plane crash* in the jungles of Africa.

Oh, it's just too Romantic for words.

2) Listen to the man:

RHYS-DAVIES: (Speaking directly into the tape recorder, he says:) Now listen up girls! Orlando Bloom. Very dishy! (And laughs.) Viggo Mortensen... dream!

We've got some other very handsome men, too – Bernard Hill, for instance, who I think is superb and magnificent in this. Every bit of casting in this film is actually first-class. And Karl Urban. Wonderful casting and rightly so because the film is in some way about beauty and sex appeal. (He laughs.) But I don't think a dwarf qualifies too much among those lines.

May I just repeat for those too befuddled by the word 'Orlando' to notice the rich vein of slash here:

We've got some other very handsome men, too – Bernard Hill, for instance.

Oh my god. The other John (Noble) is going to be *so* jealous. Hm, so that's what went on at Helm's Deep....

Also, speaking of Bern, why has still nobody slashed the TTT moment in the Golden Hall:

Viggo to Bern: "You'll feel much better once you have a sword in your hand."

Yeah. Indeed. So: whose sword?

You are Lollipop Dom!
You are Lollipop Dom!
Flirty and meltingly provocative, you enjoy candy,
unbuttoned shirts, and teasing your poor female
(and male!) fans. Mmm, creamy.

Which Dominic Monaghan are you?

Saw this on [livejournal.com profile] badgermonkey's LJ. Was struck by ridiculousness of it and therefore had to participate at once. Didn't tweak because it was too off-beam for tweaking.

It's all [livejournal.com profile] anira's fault!

What with her Marton-droolings and her Yorgi-iconage.

Yes. I went and spent 3 pounds 75 on the multinational consortium of Blockbuster's, came home with an absolutely triple-shite film that even bored the kids to death - and all this simply to be able to drool over Marton as Yorgi in "xXx" for a few precious minutes.

That man is a sex god.

[livejournal.com profile] anira's previous icon, of course, made me scuttle to t'library to borrow "Matrix". At least I didn't have to spend money on that one.

Plus an icon just for [livejournal.com profile] zarah5. *winks*

1) Five nicknames you've had.
Sweets. Neeney-knots. Misery twig. That's about it, I'm afraid. I don't attract them.

2) Five books you've read recently.
Tim Winton, Dirt Music (took me a while to get into then I liked the evocation of Western Australia and its outback, and the nice male character at the centre of the story)

Jeffrey Eugenides, The Virgin Suicides (this one was okay but didn't grip all that much; a bit contrived)

Timothy Findley, Spadework (I loved this. Sparse and terse and emotional, and with man-on-man action interwoven in the loveliest way)

Donna Tartt, The Secret History (liked this one quite a bit though not as much as some of the others I've read recently; has its slashy moments but it's a bit 'and then this happened', 'and then' -- I like a less episodic structure; but gripping emotional plot and some very compelling characters, esp. that Henry guy)

Elmore Leonard, Can't even remember the title. (left this one in a hotel room in France after finishing with it; am a bit tired of Elmore, used to devour him but perhaps he's easing off)

3) Five quirky facts about you.
Cucumber. Love and Foster's. Love at first kiss. Never finish a cup of coffee and tea. Bum doughnut.

(Yes, I know these are cryptic but really, some intimacies must remain private... surely? And hm, most of my quirks seem to be of the intimate nature.)

4) Five people who have influenced your life.
Ms Brown, art teacher. Hubs. Parents (the two of them). Mother-in-law.

5) Five things to which you're looking forward.
Finishing Karl/Dom. Conference in April. Old friend visiting from Australia in 2 weeks. Summer. Ann-Marie McDonald's next book.
