director of what?

So I didn't get that internally advertised post I applied for, the Director of Research post.

So now I have to come down from the interview adrenaline trip.

On the other hand, I am determined not to let this get me down too much. I am permitted a little bit of disappointment but then:

I've got a sabbatical from 1 Feb! Whee and whee again!

I am writing my book!

I am writing Dudley/Draco!

I read astolat's A Beautiful Lifetime Event! sheldrake recced it, and it's a sort of an mpreg fic, so of course I had to read it, because if there's one thing I cannot stand, it's mpreg. And of course, if there's one author who can pull it off, it's Shalott, and this fic just ruptured my brain and left me all kinds of guh.

It is the second of December and I have nearly all my presents! *falls down dead*

Once I have this book out, I may become Reader, or Professor, and leave this stupid institution altogether and then who needs a 'director of research'?

Oh, and has anyone seen Battle Royale? I got it out of the library. I am hoping for insanely sick levels of schoolchild violence -- is this what I will get? Hogwarts Royale?

sga canon ep question

As you know, I am woefully ignorant of any SGA canon. This is causing interesting permutations in my ficfanning but that is fodder for another post. For now, I have a question.

If I wanted to watch just one episode, which one would you recommend? Ideally, I would like to have a bit of Zelenka in it as well as McKay/Sheppard who, as I understand it, are in all the episodes. But I want a particularly good episode that makes me understand why exactly people started swooning over these chaps!

(I swoon but I swoon because of the febulous fic that is written.)
