I'm 15 minutes into 'Miller's Crossing', SGA 4.09. Read more... )

I am so totally in love with SGA right now. More than I ever was! I love this series 4! It's like one afternoon in the car during the lotrips days: I told myself that who cares, these are B-list actors, this is an absurd and laughable and riotous venture, drooling over mimes half my age -- and yet, and yet, a deep love twisted my heart.

When I'm watching episodes these days, I'm practically forgetting the woodenness. I can't even see the shlock. One eye sees it, the other eye doesn't, and all the brain registers is 'hot hot hot teh hot who's that scientist geek in the background? let's wind back and freeze-frame' (this is true; I wound back). Fandom is so mad.

It's the only genre that I do truly love without any tongue in cheek. Because fandom already has the tongue in the cheek (and in every other orifice possible). I'm just going to give in and give up and give myself over to the SGA love.

I need a McKay/McKay icon. *watches drool drip slowly down her 16-inch screen*

Also, have the hairs been assimilating since series 1? Did Rodney's hair not use to be less sticky-uppy, and has it since been Johnnified?? Sheppardised???

Also, Jeannie's lush decollété, and her pert nose, and her wide soft upper arms... *goes all polymorphously perverse*

God, just LOOK at them! )

P.S. Last week I was reading a Mills & Boon / Harlequin sheikh romance The Sultans' Ransom, and immediately wrote my own tongue-up-someone's-arse version.

This week I'm reading Proust's Swann's Way. Is this spoofable? Can I write Proust!SGA? Has anyone else done this??

I've never read Proust for more than ten pages but I've read a lot about him (Gérard Genette, my narratological hero, does drool all over Marcel Proust) so I do know that there are slashy moments in Proust, and that Proust was teh queer, and that draws me in, yes.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Who, in the SGAverse, would be the Marcel?
