P.S. Last week I was reading a Mills & Boon / Harlequin sheikh romance The Sultans' Ransom, and immediately wrote my own tongue-up-someone's-arse version.

This week I'm reading Proust's Swann's Way. Is this spoofable? Can I write Proust!SGA? Has anyone else done this??

I've never read Proust for more than ten pages but I've read a lot about him (Gérard Genette, my narratological hero, does drool all over Marcel Proust) so I do know that there are slashy moments in Proust, and that Proust was teh queer, and that draws me in, yes.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Who, in the SGAverse, would be the Marcel?

Radek!!!! All that Eastern European world-weariness and ennui.
Ah, I can see him in a turtleneck, sipping Becherovka and commenting of the existential angst of working with Rodney McKay ....

There is a wonderful character in Proust (I'm up to page36), called M. Swann. Who would he be?? He is a closetted dandy (that's my reading, anyway...)

I have discovered (on p.30 or so) a wonderful character named M. Swann in 'Swann's Way'. He is, this is my reading so far, a closeted dandy and mysterious and wonderful.

Proust is totally pwp: plot? what plot?
