I had a really nice time with sheldrake today who now lives near a new harbour re-development and has about five cafés/restaurants within five minutes' walking distance of her house. The visit really made me think about writing again; it was so stimulating to talk about all that again!

Also, on the way there and back I tested our new CD-player in our brand new car (VW Golf; bought using t'government's scrappage deal, yay). I miss not being able to play my old compilation tapes (no cassette player in this new model...) and not being able to play my ipod (we were too miserly to spend thousands more on an ipod jack) but there's a silver lining to everything because I have finally found the best venue for listening my way through all of kathputli_girl's generously gifted Sukhwinder Singh CDs!

Flat long black clouds drive across the steelgrey sky from right to left. They are not pitch black, more like dark grey, lit from within by mysterious bright illumination, part yellowish, part a very pastelly blue.

It's the silhouettes of rooftops and treetops that are black against the luminous and strange sky.

There is no rain, only car noises from afar.
