I'm not on LJ as much as I used to be so have I missed any really great stories in the last 2 weeks?

Recs! I'm looking for recs! Any fandom, any pairing, fps or rps or orig. Just as long as it's *really, really* good.

ETA: I just realised how difficult my request is. Because what does "really, really good" mean, anyway? OK, I will amend to: something you have really, really liked.

Second ETA: OK, I am amending again. The sort of fic I feel like right now: has plot and has sex embedded in plot (or no sex), has sex arising from characterisation (or no sex), has not got Viggo or Elijah in it (unless written by azewewish, she's allowed to do Viggo), has a long build-up, has no angst, is set now and not in 2000 or is AU (in case of Lotrips), has sparse prose and no excessive use of metaphor, has little subjective pov, and now I'm realising how absurd this post is and how unfulfillable my current criteria and maybe I should just write it myself....??

I do so hope you've read sheldrake's new fic, which is wonderful. I read it just after she posted it last night and haven't managed coherency as yet. I was very pleased to see that many people have commented on it so far as it is very good indeed. Doesn't fulfil your criteria mind you!

It's not at all what you're looking for, except for the set in the now bit, the long build-up, and the sex arising from characeterization & plot. And it's the longest thing I've written in, um, over a year.

Right, uh... Darling, I'm not sure I've ever read a fic that met ALL of your requirements. But if you find one (or write one), I'd love to read it.

Oh, and don't go read any of my stuff because what I've written lately falls under at least a couple of the categories you don't want included in your fic. *shrugs* It's funny how I love discussing stuff with you because I agree on a lot of things with you, and yet, we seem to like such different things... I think it's why I love it so much. *giggles*
