Perhaps some osmotically translated excitement from those indomitable nano-thingy participants.

Perhaps galvanisation due to having to write origfic for Demelza's birthday (she'll read nought else -- well, Wainthropp, but I didn't feel like writing any) and consequent miffedness at nobody wanting to read my origfic which kind of fb drought always results in me digging my heels in and resolving to write nothing but. (Heh, I imposed John/Bern on *everyone*...)

Perhaps just that something took 22 months to work its way down my gullet and settle in the guts or wherever these things need to settle before they can find an outlet in the writing hand.

Perhaps t'h saying, "'When We Are Human' is a work of genius" (patently untrue but uplifting nonetheless.

Perhaps tinkering around with k/d epic and twisting it so much in the direction of orig that I might as well just start anew.

Perhaps finally telling my counsellor about slash and starting to wonder why I have this bored resistance to writing women and thinking about ways to address my resistance, circumvent it, cheat it, subvert it, out the inner Mary-Sue but then again not, in the wake of Dee's MS celebration.

Perhaps because I needed to write something to fulfill my rather specific rec needs.

Perhaps simply a tiredness of Lotrips fandom.

Whatever the reason: I've started to write my novel. Orig! And arthropodean experimental playing round. (By that I don't necessarily mean creepy crawlies but the playing round with style and pov of "Arthropods".)

Well, it hasn't really got arthropods as a theme but it's using the Arthropods experimentation with style and pov.

I was tearing through friends' posts pretty fast over the weekend because I got so behind. But this is perfect- now that I'm in my comfy chair at my own computer, I'll go read it.

And novels, yes. Sing it sister! I don't seem to be able to produce anything less than 200 pages long!
