threshold levels

lobelia321I've noticed that the longer I don't post anything, the higher the posting threshold grows. Rarity has an effect; it makes every nugget that is posted seem portentous. And because I don't like my life to be portentous, I post not at all.
Also, because I'm so rarely here. I thought I was taking a holiday. But it's funny how absence can become a habit all unto its own.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I logged on because I really felt like reading some more Desert Prince. Then I remembered that I had to write it first.
Damn.

Note: I've turned off my comment email option so it may be a while before I comment on comments in my LJ and never before I comment on comments to comments I've left in others' LJs because I'm afraid, as far as cruising LJ goes, I lose track. *g*
