Oh, and there's some spoiler thing going around? Apparently people are threatening to unfriend or filter away those who do not post a 'I wont' spoiler' message?

Well, I'm too depressed to post such a message. Go ahead, unfriend, filter, do your worst. If you know me, you know how I post and don't need a special message.

Oh, and by the way: the butler did it!

There isn't any threat about it (not that I've seen, anyway); just that some of us Aussies don't want to be spoiled so we're going to have a week of avoiding friendslists until we get to see ROTK. It's not so much plot spoilers, either; I don't want to go into ROTK knowing that everyone on my list hated it, or loved it, or said it should have had more emotional bits, or anything like that.

A lot of people have said that they're happy to put all their ROTK stuff behind a cut, so we can read their LJs without seeing inadvertent spoilers, but it's a personal choice and I recognise that it's up to me to stay away from people's LJs if they don't want to do that.

I didn't read the original posts, just some posts responding to those posts and they mentioned the word 'threat' so I took umbrage.

I have been avoiding spoilers like the plague ever since the absurd [livejournal.com profile] thejennabides got upset by minor revelations about background music and suchlike. People who know me will know this and do not need a special message. People who don't know me: well, they can unfriend.

People are doing what?

OK, that's going too far. I just threatened viciously to defriend if anyone spoilered.

Possibly because I'm feeling narky about not getting to see it when you lot all do and I'm thinking that the vicious bite of yelling at someone for spoiling and then defriending them will make me feel better... Which of course means no one will spoil me. Witness my age-old determination to get flamed, as yet resulting in absolutely nothing.

*hugs you and doesn't think she could ever defriend you, even if you posted the entire movie frame by frame with technical criticism, make-up tips and your own faux-french subtitles*

*giggles*

Yeah.

I have no reply to this. I stand disarmed.

*flails with the remaining two limbs*

they're not called butlers in Middle-earth; they're called handbags, according to Bruce Hopkins, the chap who played Gamling. he said he felt like Theoden's handbag ... and then called Bernard Hill a ponce! he said this at the Gathering of the Fellowship convention.
