I am annoyed.

This stupid [livejournal.com profile] lotr_deathmatch thingy has signed me up to their fight game without:

1) my leave
2) my consent
3) my knowledge
4) my approval

They are anonymous moderators / managers. No email appears on their userpage. No name is given. I posted an annoyed tig, asking them to take me off their list. I hate being signed up for things behind my back. It's like having my fics archived behind my back -- I always write to ask them to remove it.

Does anyone know who the people are running this death thing?? So that I can email them directly in case they don't read or obey my tig?!

I think it's supposed to be a compliment. Clearly you are as famous as, ooooh, a mun. Or a very famous thing. Or some people I've never heard of. Or darling [livejournal.com profile] megolas

It's a farce, hon. Forget it. You don't have to do a damned thing, and it'll probably putter out in a week or so, anyway. Pffft, really.

Why for you abuse the word 'tig'? I get excited when I see it, and this is false advertisement.

Tig: have I misunderstood something? I thought it was another word for 'LJ comment', coined in response to the tig-tog game of extended-DVD fame. Am I wrong?

RPers have adopted it. So I guess in a way it is technically a LJ comment, but on LJ role playing communities. ie, tig me, tig me! You know?

I think it's pretty unlikely they'll take your name off, although I'm sure they'll love the fact that you asked them to. Whoever 'they' might be. IMO, there's not much you can do to stop people talking about you either behind your back, or in front of your face, especially on the Internet. Which is, in essence, all they're actually doing. It's not polite, but there we are.

well, being asked to be taken off is not as, er, amusing as [livejournal.com profile] _redpanda_ asking to be put on it - hah!

Hmmm...

I think I'm going to start ignoring the whole thing now, just for the sake of my sanity. :)

My understanding is that it's an identification of the Big Names in our fandom, so there isn't really permission involved - you are one of the Big Names. Luckily, your being on that list doesn't require you to do anything in particular. And I guess it's not as bad as having your fics taken, since they aren't doing anything with your (yummy) works of art. It's more like you're in one of those "Who's the Hottest Hunk" contests in TeenPeople, and you're Orlando!

Although I doubt they'll take your name off, your disinterest in being involved in the deathmatch may increase your chances of being voted off the BNF island soon - unless you get really upset, then it will probably entertain some people and raise your profile.

Yay for upcoming Desert Prince, and Happy New Year!

Ack, how convoluted. I didn't understand the thing at all, obviously. Ah well, fair enough.

Terimah kasih untuk ini tig!

It's a very good point. I mean, yeah sure, you don't have to do anything, but these people are making free with your name and your reputation, and doing so without so much as a by-your-leave. Tell 'em off. Go, Lobelia, Go! *G*

I just looked at all the responses to you comment and all I can say is how rude. You are not public property and you have every right to object (especially to something as stupid as this, honestly, does everyone in fandom have the sense of humour of a twelve-year-old? It's so tiresome.)

I love how they're being all self-righteous now about their tired little game. How dare you be annoyed at someone trying to annoy you?? And not even call it by its proper name liek omg1111!!
