tere naam: worth watching?
Feb. 3rd, 2004 11:58 amThe lovely
dawntreader717 included some extra surprise songs on my CD. I love listening to songs without knowing the picturization -- that happened to me with Chayya Chayya, and the excitement upon seeing it on the screen was just great -- especially as I had by that time already associated the song with all sorts of other images in my head. Actually, it is now even a bit confusing because both my own images and Mani Ratnam's image have to live side by side / battle it out in my head every time I hear the song.
Anyway, I really like Lagan Lagi from Tere Naam. So I found some reviews that really tear Tere Naam to pieces. Is it worth watching??

Date: 2004-02-03 01:40 pm (UTC)This movie was a cause for big debate over on the bollywhat forum because of a certain scene in the movie. But hearing about people go on about it made me go see it and I saw it in a totally different light. I absolutely loved the movie. For one thing it proved that Salman can act. I had seen him for the first time in an older movie the night before and almost didn't go see Tere Naam because of it. I didn't like him at all. But he really was great in Tere Naam. And Bhoomika Chawla is excellent.
For this movie you will find reviews that love it and reviews that hate it. I haven't heard anyone say they have no opinion. This movie causes strong opinion on both sides. I'm on the side that loved it.
I would recommend you see it regardless so you can see Salman's performance.

have some 1s just to express my delight and amazement: 111111111
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is what got me sucked in. Totally and irrevocably. If you want something else to go on with: Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gam by the same director with Kajol and Shahrukh Khan again, and Dil Se, my new favourite.
Huzzah!!!!!
