No, it's not Demelza. But the closest I could get.

No time to post, no time to tig. Am completely absorbed in Lust over Pendle.

(Blame Laz. *g*)

It's a great story, and so is Tissue of Silver. They rival JKR as far as I'm concerned!

Rival?

No contest. Way better.

Tissue of Silver. Don't read it too soon after LOP, or they will all blur together...

Let them blur, I say. I am too eager and keen. I can't possibly wait. *g*

I have no alternative for the moment but he is *not* Paul Bettany!

Eeep, it's *you*!

But no. Jude Law = world's prettiest man. But he is not Draco. (Not in my head, anyway.) I will continue the Search.

Jude is too soft. I admit, yes, he has his hard moments but then, Draco's not "hard". Jude is too --- bendy.

Lazziepooh, have you got the Tissue Silver fic in Word? And could you attach it to me or something? Because it won't paste into Word on my computer; it keeps making my Mac crash. (Too much lust?)

I warn you. It's 365 pages in Times New Roman, font size 12.

I'm printing it out 30 pages at a time, size 10, no margins, double-paged.

How interesting. A formatting tig.

That's ok, I'm not really a printer-outer, except on the odd occasion. I may put it on a floppy and read it at work illegally. Anyway, since everyone's being so enthusiastic, I've bookmarked it (bookmark now sits with the Tissue of Silver one, which I've been meaning to read for ages).

Anyway, yes.

I have tried to paste Tissue of Silver into Word several times and each times my Mac crashes. So now I have asked the authoress to email it to me as an attachment. I hope she does it.

Ack, what is happening? Are we lured into the HP fandom?

Lured! Lured, by God! (Or, perhaps more accurately, by Laz and Blythe and Katie).

I have just re-read it myself and am now re-reading the sequel, Dissipation and Despair.

Am actually relieved you are enjoying it. I always find reccing stuff to you a trauma because I am aware that you print them out! What if you loathe something that I have recced that is really long? All those trees!! All that ink!! All my fault!!

Double-paged, font size 10, no margins. I started out with font size 9 but oh, my eyes. I print out in increments of 30 pages at a time. (Isn't my life interesting?)

What if you loathe something that I have recced that is really long?
But I read a few pages before I press that 'print' button!!!! :-)
And I have to say one thing for HP fandom: the long fics! I love the novels! I love immersing myself!

And a sequel!!!! *squeals helplessly*

I use my Palm PDA to read fic which, I know is another screen, but suits me and I can lounge in bed with the light out to do it!!

I shall endeavour to rec stuff that I like. I may just post a whole slew of links to fic I have enjoyed.

Do read Lust Over Pendle -- you'll find the link via the one I gave above for the sequel. Also read Tissue of Silver, as it is fab! The link goes to the main page for all [livejournal.com profile] fearlessdiva's fic, there is a sequel and various interludes and missing scenes that are well worth reading as well.

There. Recs ahoy!

Actually, if it's any consolation that was pretty much what Katie said, and now she's hooked! I can honestly say that, although you will find that some of the in jokes are beyond you, there is much to admire with both of these whether you have read the books or not. And frankly, having seen the first film will give you at least some grounding for the idea. :)

Go on, you know you want to...

I read books 1-4 to my young son who fell out of his bed with excitement. My own enthrallment waned by book 2 and was gone by book 4. I never bothered with book 5 nor with movie 2 though I did see movie 1 and vomited with boredom.

However: I have so far read 4 fics in the HP fandom. One of them has become one of my top 5 fics evah and evah (tons and tons better than J.K. Rowling!) and one of them I'm in the middle of and can barely leave alone long enough to make a post. The other two were shite.

So. There you have it!

When the boredom reaches phenomenal proportions: yes.

It could have been the rolling motion of the cinema, of course. I was on a ferry at the time.
