The small son insisted that we rent League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (while I was eyeing Ned Kelly) so we watched it and both nearly fell asleep.

But Richard Roxburgh: hey! Ex-fiance of teh lovely.

And woohoo, Stuart Townsend! Why, oh why, did they swap him for Vigsey? Stu = a dish.

I crave BW.

Nooooo, Viggo is too delicious, I'd have been so angry with Stu as Aragorn.

But Stu sort of *looks* like Viggo!

Why of course Stu's a dish. But too young, too soft, too pretty for Aragorn, IMO. He would have been a lovely elf, though!

Stuart is a DISHDISHDISH!!!!!!!!!

I could be a big fangirl, but there appear so few fellow fans that my enthusiasm waxes and wanes depending on whether I catch a glimpse of him by chance. Yes, he would make a beautiful elf. Or even *cough* Faramir. runs and hides

Anyone'd be an improvement over klutzy old David. And I say that, having slashed him!

I like Wenham well enough as Faramir, but don't like how little time he got in the film, especially ROTK. As a result, I have not been able to connect with his character as well as I might have if he had more screen time. He does a good brooding not-quite-as-good-as-Boromir second son though. ;-)

As for Stuart, well, I was going to suggest he play any number of characters, including Boromir, Legolas and Pippin, not because I don't like the actors who portray them (I really do!) but just because I'd like to see Stuart in any role. Mea culpa!

I can see what Jackson is doing with his Faromir but I don't approve. Tolkien's Faromir is *not* second-best. He is, in fact, the better brother. Boromir is the flawed one. Faramir is almost too perfect. Not this sulking, younger bro thing.

I loathed League. It's the one movie I seriously considered demanding my money back. The only thing I liked about it was Connery's voice.
