Oh, and I've discovered The Office. Very belatedly, I know. But t'h gave me a DVD for Christmas and we started watching it last week and now I'm hooked. The tension!! The romance! The strange sexiness of it! The unrequitedness! The office equipment and the sheer horror of plumbing the depths of self-abasement and embarrassment.

Whom do I love? Tim, Gareth, Dawn. Oh, and Keith. ;-)

The main guy is spooky, he's so real.

The Office...What a hoot! Yes the waves of tension as everyone is embarrassed by David Brent yet not sure what to do because a) he is the boss and b) the cameras are rolling are PARALYZING! I have tried to get other friends to watch and after about 10 minutes they want me to change the channel. You've really got to give it a chance and watch more than one episode imho.

This is what I found. I saw one episode on TV and thought 'ho hum', I can see how that's cute but it gets kinda old fast. Then, in a stupor of vegetableness last week, t'h and I inserted the DVD and were *hooked*. It's slow and it *creeps up on you*.

I only saw the final three episodes and had prepared to be very unimpressed, but unexpectedly loved it. Yes, the sadness, embarrassment and office equipment did it.

Tim is really a hobbit, too. Which is useful for me.
Gareth is a kind of Skinny Rohirrim/Nazgul. (But Nazgul are quite sexy, really, or am I totally depraved?) The Tim-Gareth relationship kills me.

This is the most vapid comment, but I'm marking and my brain has left.

The Tim/Gareth but also the Gareth/David! The last episode I've seen so far has Gareth massaging David's shoulders -- what is all that about??? Well, we know what but...!!!!!

::g:: Dag Solstad. Apparently one of the most famous Norvegian novelists. At least that's what the Babylon version of Britannica tells me.

Nonono, this is 'dag' as in the Australian term meaning a) yucky fly-and-shit-ridden glob of wool just in front of a sheep's arse, and b) a nerdy person. As in: Karl the dag.

Y'know, this pic makes Karl look kind of like, whatshisname, the soon-to-be-Superman. Something with C? Oh god. I so should know this. Um.

CLARK! Karl looks totally like the guy who's playing Clark, at least in that pic. He so does.

(Also? Australians are strange.)

Er, have no idea whom you mean. But Karl does not look like Karl in this pic. Hence why I picked it. (Is that grammatically correct?)

Also: not Australians are strange, but New Zealanders. In NZ, a 'dag' means 'a jolly guy, a nice fellow.'

I sometimes find him painful to watch because he's so real. I cringe, physically.
