Yes, I'm slipping down that slope to hell and fast.

So here goes yet again. (I don't seem able to read anything bad in the Fandom That Should Not Be.)

Repechage, by fabularasa (and isn't that a great username, too?).
It's my first HP fic involving the Manly Men (yes, HP has them, too! Boys and Men!) and it almost made me come onto t'reference library's swivel chairs. It has: unobtrusive prose, seconds-perfect timing, cracking dialogue, excruciating moments, and angst in delicious dollops.

I have a huge soft spot for Fabula Rasa's Under the Influence and Stone Cold Sober [although I could have done without the final chapter which I felt it wasn't necessary and somewhat marred the ending]. But, Gotta love her Snape... and her Sirius... Oh, and her Lupin... and while I am at it, I am very fond of her Hermione...

Thank *you* for keeping me supplied! Have downloaded your recs. Now: there seem to be an awful lot of Snape archives and communities. How about some Harry/Draco ones??

Firstly you should check out the febulous switchknife's rec site which you can find here. She divides everything into pairings and has just added a search option. She also has a set of links to other archives which list the main ones, including Pure Magnetism, which is probably the main Harry/Draco archive. You will find that most HP archives need a password, but these are usually easy to access.

Reccing H/D is hard, as it's such a huge and varied ship, as you will see from Pure Magnetism! There are also a number of LJ communities but these tend to be very hit or miss. Personally, I'd hit up the recs journals that are around:

silver_and_gold is taradiane's rec journal
fic_fairy is where people post links to recent HP fic of all pairings
hp_recycles is where people publicise old fic that they want to rec
quibbler_recs is another rec journal that links to some good stuff

There are others, but you will definitely find some good stuff on those communities!

Ooh, thanks so much. Am just trying to work out how to access some of this passworded stuff. Hmph, am too obtuse for this. But maybe I shouldn't read anything now anyway until after I've finished my fic or else I'll be fanonboozled. But is there no *list*? Am trying to maximise fb quantity here!!

Ha! I think not reading anything is a good idea.

As to lists, there are LOADS!! The main Potter one -- as far as I know -- is Glasses Reflect, which at last count had 7,758 members! Really! hahahaha. Here you find fic with at least one Potter in the pairing -- be it Harry or James. Sadly, it is also the font of all OT spammage -- BUT it does also have a sister list called Elusive Devotion which the maintainer forwards all the fic posted to Glass Reflect to. So, once you are finished writing and have posted to LJ, I'd say join Glasses Reflect and post there. There is also Veela Inc which has nearly 4,000 members and is better for more serious discussion as it has a strict moderation policy. It also welcomes fic postage.

You know how I was trying to think of an actor who comes close to the Draco in my head? Not the Transfigurations Draco but my own one? The closes I can come up with at the moment is Mackenzie Crook. (!!!) (Well, I keep reading the words 'pointed face' in JKR!)
