You know that you're no longer on your way to Hell in a handbasket but that you have, in fact, arrived when you find yourself making an icon to go with your new Fandom That Must Not Be Named.

And I need all the help I can get in struggling with the overwhelming fanon characterisations of this particular individual... *g* (Okay, the chin's not as pointed as it's supposed to be in canon but hey.)

Ah, Mrs Crook, who but you would name their son Mackenzie...

So he's the one... never heard of him (uneducated bastard, that's me).

Ah, Mrs Crook, who but you would name their son Mackenzie...

Um. Mackenzie Astin, Sean Astin's brother? Or half-brother, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

Mackenzie Crook: Gareth in the TV series 'The Office'; one-eyed pirate in the Disney movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Remember him now? *g*

Haven't seen office but now I remember the one-eyed pirate. Um. That's quite a leap towards Draco, at least in my mind...

Well, it's a leap to *fanon* Draco. But when I re-read canon (benighted madwoman that I am) I discovered that Draco was 'pointy', and the pointiest actor I know is Mackenzie Crook.

Also, he's delicious in The Office. If seriously weird. And an antidote to more-beautiful-than-Adonis fanon!Draco. Heh. Cos beautiful Mackenzie ain't.

But pointy. *g*

And now that I'm looking at your icon underneath my icon on this page: difference not so very, very great, no?!

*squints* I guess it's in the expression: your Draco (hee) looks more tragic whereas mine looks more arrogant. I think.

Also, yours looks about 17 years younger. *giggles*

But I always do love the tragic. I love melancholy!Orli. And I think you just may have led me to have a major characterisation-breakthrough here, so thank you, thank you!

Just genius.

i'm now tempted to write Mackenzie Crook/Paul Bettany in a slash battle of the potential adult Dracos.

Eeek, I remember some tigging in which the name Paul Bettany came up as a poss Draco. Now if those two ever star in a movie together, slash will explode.

Oh yes, it *will*!

(But is Ricky Gervaise Snape??)

If he was stretched and thinned down a bit, he'd make quite a good Snape. But he'd need a fair bit of stretching, imo.

How about Crook, Bettany and Law, in 'Draco vs Draco vs Draco?' Battle of the fanons.

Jude Law is *so* not Draco.

And where in canon does it say that Snape is thin?

I agree about Jude.

But I did get the impression that JK described Snape as thin. Perhaps I'm wrong -- I haven't read them in aeons and I'm far too lazy to trudge downstairs and find the bastards and check. It's just that she's a bit of a one for physical description, isn't she? She certainly described him as greasy (which, incidentally, would fit far better for David Brent than it does for Alan Rickman in the films, who always looks to me as though he washes his hair in Timotei and then spends ages admiring it in the mirror and tries to catch glimpses of himself reflected in windows throughout the day. But that's by the by).

And while we're on the subject of film canon -- I remain convinced that film!Draco is going to be Eminem when he grows up.

Obsessive HP info collectors mention nothing about him being thin.

Bwuahhahah, time for paunchy!Snape!

Ah, interesting.

Big, beefy Snape. Heavy, lumbering Snape. Flabby, glistening, sweaty Snape. Pale and fleshy Snape. Like a big cod.
