Innocently driving to school to pick up the children, I was waylaid by a huge poster of Brad Pitt fucking stabbing Eric Bana, set against a sunset effect thingy.

Oh glory! And no sign of the bad-acting curly one.

'tis time to activate the troy_rps yahoo group, methinks. Fics are already rolling in at [livejournal.com profile] troy_rps! *gg*

Here is a song my son (aged 10) composed about Achilles:

Achilles is strong
And he is gay
He wears a thong
And that's okay.

Offspring of slasher; what can I say?

Revive, oh Fearless One!

Hm, cute is one way of putting it. I found it more worrying than cute. Especially once I was informed by the song's composer that 'Achilles had a friend called Patroclus; they were gay'. I swear this didn't come from me.

Well, if it didn't come from you (I'm trying very hard to take your word for this), it makes me wonder what in the world they teach the youngsters in the schools of the decadent Old World.

And are you telling me (actually *telling* me) that you've nevah evah read the Iliad before? *throws hair* What is the world coming to?

*defriends*

I want to read Paradise Lost next but I can't because Orlando hasn't appeared in the movie version yet.

Oooh, icon. Now, if I were to have a Troy icon, I think I would have to opt for Brad. Because I dreamed about him.

He clearly Calls to me.

Yes, that nasty, orange, rust-like dye shit that comes off of old books and sticks to your skin and gets underneath your fingernails. Blargh.

Um. Yes. When one works, they tend to be *at* work. And, hey, you're up mighty late. tsk tsk.

Here to pelt you with unnecessary trivia:

Did you know that Karl Urban is of german descent, and that his full name is Karl Heinz Urban?

Karl Heinz! XD

Now that I've got that off my chest.

But German? I was so sure he was Hungarian! (Based on the incredibly watertight evidence of the circumstance that my husband's first girlfriend's boyfriend [the one she ditched him for] was called something or other Orban and was of Hungarian descent.)

Urban, Urban. I'm going to have to investigate this. Could be Jewish?

Actually, I don't believe you. Karl *cannot* be called Karl Heinz. Karl Heinz is the name of boys with partings in post-WW2 films, set in boarding schools.

I giggled like a schoolgirl for minutes when I heard it. A friend of mine sent me the info in an email; she has it from a german forum of Elijah stalkers who also stalked Karl when he was filming in Berlin. Karl Heinz! Still cracks me up.

I don't believe this.

*I* don't know where Quakenbrueck is. Except that it sounds like something out of Donald Duck. Also, I was born in a town called Osnabrueck so maybe it's near there???
