I just have to pimp Doublespaced to which I am getting increasingly drawn (after having been a member for er, all of one day -- I live to link).

It's a new forum for discussing writing and reading, and it's a forum. Which means it's all, ooh, different, with threads and stars and no icons and things, and I'm having to get used to that but will, no doubt, be completely blasée about it by the end of the week.

Remember, this is the woman who used to be frightened by LJ.

Oh, and it was started by [livejournal.com profile] badgermonkey. It has, so far, a thread for discussing WIPs, and a drabble challenge, and other things. And it seems to be, so far, blissfully free of tinhats.

*narratological juices flowing*

(This is just an idea, but I'm thinking of moving the forum now I know there's an audience for it. If I do, there'll be new software, and you will LOVE it. Much easier to use, no pop-ups, you can subscribe to threads so you can just press a button and read all the replies, customisable colour scheme, and so fast it's untrue! No stars, but taglines (like sigs, but uder your name) and maybe even forum email. But we'll go with what we have for now.)

*screams*

Just when I'm starting to get the hang of this one, you threaten me with more and new software??? Aaaagh.

Also, I've discovered that there *is* email notification in the Doublespaced forum. Heh. And I've discovered the 'recent posts' button (except all posts were by me so it was kind of boring but I have great hopes for the future) and the 'help' site and I've discovered what blue vs beige buttons mean.

The one thing I don't seem to be doing is becoming involved in sophisticated discussion of reading and writing but that, too, will no doubt follow...

You naughty person, you're doing this in your lunch hour, aren't you?

Also, the stupid google toolbar doesn't work for macs.

How is house??

No, no, don't worry, the new software (if I ever get round to implementing it) is much easier. Honestly, it's the best forum software I have ever used. And if we do change, I'll guide you through it gently.

The house stuff is going slowly and kind of painfully, but we might be moved sometime in June. Maybe. Possibly. We are not getting excited.

(And it wasn't my lunch hour, I was actually supopsed to be teaching! Hey, it's about books and stuff, isn't it?)
