Well, ho-hum. The Germans played well but not febulously. The goal was just silly. "Whoops, was that a goal behind me? Oh, so it was." Only last ten minutes were really exciting. And all that shirt-pulling and falling over each other. No elegance!

The pigs escaped again. I caught them single-handed.

I made risotto with white wine, mushrooms, capers and cauliflower.

I had a paper accepted for a conference next year in Atlanta, and I had my session proposal accepted for a conference in Bristol, and I have to write a paper for the conference I'm going to in Montreal in August. I'm turning into a character from Small World. (My lifelong ambition, actually.)

I am twisting myself into knots about Harry/Draco/and others which is getting way out of hand but thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sheldrake I learned that it's best just to be audacious and forge ahead.

I'm having thoughts about canon and fanon in rps vs fps, and other thoughts about origfic vs genre fic. Will write these down and post them as soon as I have a) written Montreal paper, b) written Atlanta paper, c) written Bristol paper, d) written book, e) finished Draco/Harry. Hm, maybe earlier than that, actually.

Obesity is caused by democracy. Discuss.

Actually, I love democracy. I love it fiercely. I was inducted into it in the winter of 1988/89 (when we turned my uni into a Räterepublik) and I've loved it ever since. I get brief tearful moments whenever I go to vote, as if someone had started playing Beethoven in my chest.

My relationship to LJ has been changing over the past few months and I haven't quite figured out all that it will be yet.

I owe a lot of people feedback: Brenda, Sheldrake, Helenish, Resonant, Fabula Rasa, Jem, Stewardess, A.J. Hall.
