i'm back online
Jun. 21st, 2004 03:28 pmOkay,
folks, I'm back online after a visit from the parental units. Planned future posts:
- much European Cup ranting and blathering along the lines of 'Portugal!!!!', 'Otto Rehagel!!!' (spelling?), 'I need to be at the next World Cup, I just need to do this thing live.'
- excerpts from printed sex
- further musings upon genre fic vs literary fic, bolstered by detailed analysis of some slash (to exemplify genre fic) and some gen origfic (to exemplify 'literary' fic)
To this end:
azewewish and
badgermonkey, could I use one of your fics for abovementioned demonstrations??? Please?
- much ogling at
alan_hansen
Mother (in German): 'Who's that commentator? He's very good-looking. Is he from Ireland?'
Father (in German): 'He looks like an American film star.'
Me (not necessarily in German): *bursts out laughing* Oh, and he's always with that other one on the right there.
T'h (in English): 'Alan is starting to look more and more like a transvestite.'
- nuggets from the books on
creative
writing I borrowed from t' library (not t'reference library, t'other library)
And here's an injunction to you,
my_readers: don't let me rant too much. Make me go away and write HP fic. Tig me thus: Why are you posting and not writing HP fic?
And yes, what's with the indiscriminate use of lj person icons? Hahah!

Date: 2004-06-21 05:45 pm (UTC)I can't believe the insurrectionary spirit of my LJ Friends.
*tsks*

This sounds...interesting? And you are off and writing analyses [what's the plural of analysis?] once again! You have more energy for some things that anyone else I know. Am impressed.
Well, back to watching the tennis for me!

Pff, energy. I am a lazy loot.

Date: 2004-06-21 10:26 pm (UTC)I love football whether you lot win or not if the game is exciting. You know that the only nation that gives me heart attacks is Cameroon. Ah, Cameroon... *sighs and plans World Cup attendance* But t'game was brilliant! I love lots of goals on both sides: ratchet up the excitement! And I can't decide whether Rooney is a loutish thug or a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed youngster.
And Alan! What's with the eyebrow? Has someone *singed* it off?? T'h insists that he's turning into a woman. He demonstrated this by dangling T-shirts over the screen in imitation of a feminine coiffure for Mr H. I remain unconvinced. The curls visible at the top of his manly and unbuttoned collar were too virile.

Date: 2004-06-22 06:14 am (UTC)I think you'll be interested in this complex wank about Othering and racism. I don't take it very seriously, but you might be amused.
