Omg.

I am having crushy feelings over pics of Tom 'I-am-seventeen-in-September' Felton. (Note: that blonde woman is not me! I am 42 in November!)

Here is Tom Felton in even tenderer years:

*chants*: 'This is not happening. This is not happening.'

*slaps self sharply on both cheeks*

This is what happens when you start out in rps. Terrible, terrible. I do not even like those movies. I haven't even seen the last two. My Draco is Mackenzie Crook, damn it!!!

But the rps trap has long and devious tentacles. One minute you're ogling over pics of Dominic Monaghan, the next you delete them all from your desktop because you are 'bored' with rps, and what do you know? The next minute after that your heart starts beating at the sight of some teenage flesh!

It's having written Draco. It makes everyone into a walking illustration of my!Draco. Made worse by the knowledge that my!Draco is also my!Marysue. This is just what used to happen with images of Dom, Karl or Orli, once I'd written them!

*pinches self severely, leaving bruise mark*

*reminds self sternly that own son is almost the age of the teenage flesh*

*decides to cool off by making some gnocchi for said son*

Is this where I bring out the line of "slippery slops"?

I wonder if it's because I don't have any children of my own that I find it less stressful when I realize I'm ogling teenagers? I'm also assuming it doesn't bother me partly because I'll never meet these people, at least intentionally (which means skipping all kinds of cons and fan gatherings). I find it unlikely we'd ever meet accidentally. I think it's better for me if I keep my RPS as much in the realm of fantasy as I can.

*giggles at your icon*

Yes, having children (especially sons!) makes a difference, I think. (Though how would I know? I never used to ogle teenagers when I was still childless!)

Oh yes, god, and meeting: nononononoNO!

I've found my age perspective somewhat screwed: we always talk about "our baby brother" since he's the youngest of us siblings - he turned 28 in March. It gives a bit of a pause when I realize I'm definitely ogling boys ten years younger and think nothing of it... but I guess my brother will always have that baby quality in him because I remember him when he was little. I've no such memories of Tom Felton, for example.

And hey, that's a direct quote from Daniel in my icon!

My little brother is 39!! And yes, I know what you mean.

My sons are closer to pervy Tom Feltons than is my lillebror. Ah well, 20 goes into 80 a hell of a lot more than 80 into 20, right?

*feels naughty*

Ha, it's when you're writing Tom (http://www.livejournal.com/users/roxannelinton/8299.html) Felton (http://www.livejournal.com/users/roxannelinton/8598.html) RPS (http://www.livejournal.com/users/roxannelinton/8783.html) you know you're in trouble! ;)
