The neighbour just brought in one of our guinea pigs in a plastic bag: dead. Bitten through the neck by a cat and dumped in the neighbour's garden.

I don't believe this. These guinea sows were too timid to escape from their run but now a cat has jumped in and nabbed one of them. It was the little brown one, Meggie.

We didn't even like these guinea pigs that much; we kept missing the previous pair who were taken by foxes. But I just can't believe that we don't seem able to keep any pet for longer than five weeks. So now there's only one guinea sow left.

We buried the brown one in the garden, and the juniors are upset. We won't get another one until after we get back from our holiday in Biarritz.

I don't like cats now. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] lazlet.) I used to like them but I am now sick of their stupid habit of killing things without even eating them and of lurking around our garden.

Oh, I'm so sorry! The poor little thing. Hope the kids are doing all right.

I highly recommend carnivorous pets, since they're a bit higher on the food chain, but I still had far too many cats and dogs as a child that got run over by cars. Now everyone stays inside!

*hugs*

Yes, possibly the anser to having one's pets killed by predators is to get a predator for a pet.

The remaining pig is quite lonely now, just sits around and won't eat. :-(

i'm sorry you're not having much luck with the piggies, first the escapees, and now this poor thing. i'm sure your remaining one is traumatised by the cat attack and disappearance of its friend.

*tight hugs*

I'm starting to think we're jinxed. This may also be due to excessive immersion in HP world, of course.

We have to get another one now; the remaining survivor won't eat very much -- but I'll wait till after the holidays.
