The semester has started, the students (such as they are) have arrived, so I'm a bit snowed under. Sorry, everyone, whom I owe comments or emails! [livejournal.com profile] natasha1805: it may be a few days yet before I manage to send those things; it's proving to be more difficult than anticipated to retrieve all the bits and pieces in some semblances of order from my HP folder!

:-) Yes, I'm like [livejournal.com profile] gabbyhope, only from the other side.

Oh god, eb! Don't remind me. God, what was his name again? I can't even remember.

Haven't seen my film students yet. Art history unmemorable. Am teaching Images Today (intro to visual images, e.g. comics, film, newspaper photos, ads, paintings), Film Form and the Aesthetic (filmy module) and Visual Theories (theory bleory).

i don't think you ever mentioned eb's name. maybe you'll have a new one which lasts the course?

good luck with your courses. do you have all the syllabuses worked out? do you use the same thing every year?

His name was Tom (11). I'm not sure my poor heart could cope with another one. I do have all the syllabuses worked out (since midnight last night) and I do use the same thing every year, except I also make adjustments. This year I have to teach an entire module which I only taught in part in previous years so that means writing a few new lectures, blah. I also inserted Kant into my introductory film lecture: keep 'em on their toes. And Bollywood, of course. The high and the low, that's how I like it.

Thanks for asking. :-)

Where do I go to get my registration form signed?

Aaaargh. And as you say, with a reasonable air of patience, 'Down the corridor on the left', your inner voice is saying, quite loudly 'Does the outside of this door say SECRETARY'S OFFICE, or DROP IN FOR A NICE CHAT BECAUSE I HAVEN'T GOT ENOUGH WORK ON?'

It's no hurry, darling. I'm pretty busy getting ready for a long weekend away. Big annual family reunion thing. Argh. The good news is nieces and nephews and my daddy "driving" me around in his canoe. The bad news is evil sister-in-law and my mother (ok, the mother isn't SO bad, but she fusses over me so dreadfully these days. "Are you eating? Are you taking your vitamins? Are you sure your Dr. wants you to take ALL of those pills?" Argh.)

Please don't worry about being too orderly. I might have some fun sorting out the chaos!

Weekend was a mixed bag. I don't quite know at this point how it will affect depression. But let's do talk soon- maybe I can catch you on AIM at the weekend.
